Hi, I’m Tonya.
I’m a mother of two, a special education teacher, a reader of historical romance, and a woman learning — sometimes the hard way — that life moves in seasons.
This blog was born from grief.
Not just the kind that comes from losing someone you love, but the quieter grief too — the grief of change, of health struggles, of dreams shifting, of watching your children grow, of becoming someone new. The grief that comes in waves. The grief that doesn’t follow a timeline.
“Ebbs & Flows” reflects what I’ve learned:
Grief is not linear. It rises. It recedes. It surprises you. It softens you. It reshapes you.
Some days feel steady and strong.
Some days feel heavy and undone.
Both are part of the tide.
Here, I’ll write honestly about:
Navigating loss
Finding faith and resilience in hard seasons
Motherhood and identity
Healing while still functioning in real life
The small, sacred moments that carry us forward
If you are walking through grief — fresh or years old — I hope this space feels like a deep exhale.
You are not weak for feeling it.
You are not behind in healing.
You are not alone in the ebb and flow.
Thank you for being here.
